**THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED**

This event is organized jointly organized jointly with the Eurasia Foundation's US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange (SEE)*.

A panel of Russian and American experts will discuss the issue of gender-based violence and the ways in which it can be addressed in various cultural contexts. Drawing on their work through the US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange’s Gender Equity Working Group, the panelists will highlight promising practices and examine approaches for improving the delivery of services to survivors of gender-based violence in Russia and the U.S.  The panelists will also focus on the global context of violence against women; the similarities and differences between survivors’ experiences in both countries; the social and legal frameworks that affect survivors’ ability to find and use safety and support networks; and the provision of social and residential services for survivors.

*SEE is a diverse network of Russian and US social experts and entrepreneurs organized into working groups. They engage each other by exchanging ideas and best practices that lead to meaningful joint projects benefitting both countries.
