Thirty-five year-old Daniel Noboa, son of Ecuador’s richest man and five-time presidential candidate Álvaro Noboa, was elected as Ecuador’s new President. Former President of Colombia Ivan Duque comments on the historic election.
Whatever happens in the next year and a half will determine not only the future of Ecuador but will become also a reference model to fight populism and demagoguery that has also been linked to organized crime like the case of Correa-ism in Ecuador.
