WASHINGTON – The Wilson Center welcomes the White House’s appointment of former Governor Scott Walker and former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Drew Maloney as the new Chair and Vice-Chair of its Board of Trustees.

"As the living memorial to Woodrow Wilson, we are honored to have presidential appointments to our board,” said Jane Harman, Director, President, and CEO of the Wilson Center. “I have greatly missed Fred Malek since his death in March but as the Center moves forward I am pleased that his close friend Governor Walker and Assistant Secretary Maloney, who both bring extensive experience to their new roles, will succeed him.”

Under Chairman Malek’s leadership, the Center was named the number one think tank in the world for regional studies and retained its ranking as one of the top five think tanks in the United States.

Scott Walker served the people of Wisconsin as their Governor for eight years from 2011 – 2019, during which he also spent time as Chair of the Republican Governors Association. Drew Maloney is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Investment Council (AIC). Prior to joining AIC, Maloney served as the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Legislative Affairs.

“It has been my high honor to serve as Interim Chair at The Wilson Center. I look forward to working with Scott and Drew to continue the string of great successes that we have enjoyed,” said Interim Chair of the Wilson Center Board of Trustees, Thelma Duggin.
