WASHINGTON - The Staff and the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars join the Hamilton family in mourning the sudden and tragic passing of Nancy Hamilton. Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lee H. Hamilton was president and director of the Wilson Center for more than 11 years and Nancy, his wife, was a true friend.
Ambassador Joseph Gildenhorn, Chair of the Board of Trustees said, “Alma and I are deeply saddened to hear about the untimely passing of Nancy Hamilton. She was a woman of great dignity, intelligence and kindness. The entire Wilson Center community loved her dearly, and she will be forever in our hearts.”
Jane Harman, Director, President, and CEO of the Wilson Center added, “I have known Lee Hamilton as a colleague and friend for two decades. Nancy Hamilton was his rock. Losing a life partner leaves a huge void. The Wilson Center family mourns his extraordinary loss and embraces him at this sad time.”
