The Bart Richards Award, presented annually by the College of Communications at Penn State, was established in 1994 in memory of a longtime Pennsylvania newspaper writer and editor who advocated for journalistic ethics and responsible community journalism. This week on dialogue we are joine by the winner of the 2010 Bart Richard Award for Media Criticism, James Rainey, media columnists for the LA Times, who was recently honored for a series of columns which focused on unethical practices by local television stations passing off paid advertisements as news.
