Russia’s War against Terror: the North Caucasus and Beyond

While the West is anxiously following Russia’s moves in Syria, the Russian government has once again declared its readiness to support the global struggle against terrorists. Dr. Elena Pokalova addressed Russia’s experience combating terrorism in the North Caucasus, as well as the Kremlin’s participation in the global war on terror. The author further analyzed Russia’s current counter-terrorist dynamics in the light of the conflict in Ukraine, economic sanctions, and the war in Syria.
