Woodrow Wilson Awards Dinner Honoring Chanda Kochhar, Senator Mitch McConnell, and James (Jim) J. Murren and Heather Hay Murren

On May 10, 2017, the Wilson Center’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Thomas R. Nides, and its Director, President and CEO, former Congresswoman Jane Harman presented the Woodrow Wilson Awards for Global Corporate Citizenship, Public Service, and Corporate Citizenship respectively to Chanda Kochhar, Senator Mitch McConnell, and James (Jim) and Heather Murren at an awards dinner gala in Washington, DC.

Overview

On May 10, 2017, the Wilson Center’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Thomas R. Nides, and its Director, President and CEO, former Congresswoman Jane Harman presented the Woodrow Wilson Awards for Global Corporate Citizenship, Public Service, and Corporate Citizenship respectively to Chanda Kochhar, Senator Mitch McConnell, and James (Jim) and Heather Murren at an awards dinner gala in Washington, DC. These awards pay tribute to individuals from the public and private sector who exemplify President Wilson’s dedication to fostering international peace and cooperation.

Chanda Kochhar, Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank, is the recipient of the 2017 Woodrow Wilson Award for Global Corporate Citizenship.

Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), is the recipient of the 2017 Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service.

Jim Murren, Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International is the recipient of the 2017 Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship. 

Heather Hay Murren, Private Investor and Philanthropist, is the recipient of the 2017 Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship.

The Woodrow Wilson Awards are given to individuals whose actions and accomplishments, either in their careers or through service, reflect President Wilson’s belief “there is no higher religion than human service.  To work for the common good is the greatest creed.”  Such individuals have been recognized worldwide by the Wilson Center since 1998.
