Full Biography
Amy Battaglia coordinates network and partnership development at the Women in Public Service Project at the Woodrow Wilson Center. She is a federal senior executive on secondment from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development. Her federal career includes 20+ years at US EPA where she serves as Senior Advisor to the Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for Research providing policy advice and guidance on women and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) issues. Prior to that she served for 8 years as the Director of the Office of Program Accountability and Resource Management responsible for resource planning, policy and accountability for EPA’s research program (+$550 annual budget) to OMB, Congress, academia and industry. She also worked on assignment to the US House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health, Human Services & Education in 2008. Her federal service began at the Peace Corps in 1985, working for almost 10 years in various administrative and resource management oversight roles in Washington, including the Latin American region, later completing her service in a posting to Kyrgyzstan.
