Full Biography
In her art practice Imagination of Salvation Bryanna Millis uses varied techniques to explore pasts, presents, and possible futures in places around the world where she has lived and worked—holding space for their pain and their power. Her collages, films, actions on the land and hand-made artifacts are based in research, social practice, poetry and creative visualization.
With a background in collage, creative writing, spirituality and economics she has addressed the loss of water in the former oasis town of Al Azraq, Jordan; the paradox of ancient wisdom and the 2008 financial crisis in Greece; and the contrast between environmental degradation and protection efforts in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Currently, she is exploring exile and belonging in Palestine, where she has lived and worked since 2008. Her work can also be seen on instagram at bryannamillisart.
