Full Biography

Dr. Cecilia Nahόn is the executive director of the Model G20 Initiative at the American University School of International Service. She served as ambassador of Argentina to the United States from 2013 to 2015, and as Argentina’s Sherpa to the G-20 from 2012 to 2015. As G-20 Sherpa, she led negotiations on trade, debt, investment, climate change, employment and anticorruption issues. Previously, she was Argentina’s secretary of international economic relations in the foreign ministry. Ambassador Nahόn holds a Ph.D. in social sciences from the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO), a Master of Science in development studies from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s in economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires.
