    Full Biography

    Ms. Charlotta Collén is Director for the Office for Research, International Affairs and Corporate Connections at, Hanken School of Economics (EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA), in Helsinki, Finland. Before joining Hanken, Collén served as the Strategy Director at the University of Oulu, Finland, heading the Unit for Strategy and Science policy, i.e., the Offices of the Rectorate. The University of Oulu is best known for its groundbreaking research in 5G/6G Technologies.

    Collén has previously worked as a Senior Advisor in the Defence Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Finland. She oversaw the development of defence policies concerning strategic foresight, hybrid-, cyber- and information warfare. Before joining the MoD, Collén worked as a Special Advisor for Policy Planning and Research at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

    Collén holds a Licentiate (research degree) and master’s degree in Social Sciences from the Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland. In academia, (Åbo Akademi University, University of Helsinki, Finland, London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom) she has been teaching and publishing in EU foreign and defence policy, while pursuing a career in the Foreign and Defence Services of Finland.
