Siberian Ethnic Alites Versus Challenges of Globalization

Project Summary

The post-soviet realities are characterized by huge rise of ethnopolitical mobilization. Displays of ethnic nationalism and its influence on public minding have both similar and important specific features that are connected with traditional mentality and functioning of social institutes. The Project is aimed at revealing of pricipal and secondary idologems that constitute modern social mythological constants among Buryats, Tuvinians, Khakasses, and Yakuts, as well as mechanisms and ways of such impact.
