Environmentalism and Society in the Soviet Union from the Death of Stalin to the Present

Project Summary

Identifies environmental activism as a central vehicle for the expression of political claims by social groups (for both amenities and power). Looks at environmentalism as an opportunity for Aesopian systemic criticism while examining attitudes and political aspirations of the high intelligentsia.
