    Full Biography

    H.E. Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, Speaker of Bahrain’s Council of Representatives, is the first woman to hold the position and second woman in the region to be a Speaker of Parliament. In addition to being the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Her Excellency is also President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union. H.E. Zainal is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Literature and Science at Ahlia University and Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Ahlia School. A media and social activist, she is a Consultant of Strategic Development and Planning at the Radio and Television Authority and former Director of Bahrain TV. 

    H.E. Zainal is a member of numerous committees and associations, including the Preparatory Committee for the 13th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament, Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, and Joint Committee between the Council of Representatives and the Business Women Society, among others. 

    H.E. Zainal received a B.A. in Arabic Language and Education from the University of Bahrain and a Master's Degree from the Faculty of Communication at Ahlia University.
