John Thelin

John Thelin is a Professor at the University of Kentucky.  At Brown University he concentrated in history, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, was a member of the varsity wrestling team.  As a student waiter he accidentally spilled coffee on guest speaker Claiborne Pell, Junior Senator from Rhode Island.  John received his M.A. and Ph.D.  from the University of California, Berkeley.  His favorite publications are A History of American Higher Education (2nd edition, 2019) and Going to College in the Sixties (2018) – both published by Johns Hopkins University Press.
