Kevin O'Shea was appointed Minister (Political Affairs) at the Canadian Embassy in Washington in August 2006, following a three year assignment as the Deputy Head of Minister at the Canadian Embassy to the European Union. Mr. O'Shea has had a 25-year career at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. During this time, he has served in headquaters as Director, Canada-US Relations (2000-2003) and Director, Canadian Assistance to the Former Soviet Union (1991-1995). He has had postings to the Canadian Consulate in New York, the Canadian Permanent Mission to the OECD in Paris and to the Canadian High Commission in Ghana. Mr. O'Shea has a MA and BA from McGill University as well as a Certificat d'etudes politiques from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris.
