    Full Biography

    Kakaes is currently a Bernard L Schwartz fellow at the New America Foundation. In the fall of 2010, he was a fellow of the International Reporting Project of Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. During the 2009-’10 academic year, he was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From 2002 to 2009, he was on staff at The Economist, first covering science from London and then as bureau chief in Mexico City. He studied physics at Harvard University, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
