Nuria Marín Raventós

A distinguished business leader and advocate for women’s empowerment, Nuria Marín Raventós is co-founder and co-president of Alvarez & Marín Corporation and director of the Corporación Raventós Group. She has championed female entrepreneurship, including as former director of the Asociación Credimujer, a World Bank affiliate supporting women-led microenterprises. She served as president of the Costa Rican Association of University Women and founded the Association for the Empowerment of Leadership and Social Advancement (ALAS) to promote women in leadership.

An influential voice on business and policy issues, Marín Raventós is a former columnist for La República and a weekly contributor to La Nación. In 2011, she was named Businesswoman of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica. She holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s in government from Harvard University.
