An Economic Analysis of the Chechen Conflict

Project Summary

An armed conflict in Chechnya figures prominently in the list of domestic problems facing the Russian government and is a significant concern in Russia’s diplomatic relations. This research approaches this problem using economic theory to explain behavior of the social actors engaged, shedding light on the conflict’s internal processes.
