Full Biography
Robert Funk is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Institute for Public Affairs of the University of Chile, where he was previously Deputy Director.
Robert Funk obtained his PhD in Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research areas include democratization, presidentialism and political elites in Latin America.
In addition to his academic work, Dr Funk is a political risk consultant and a frequent commentator on radio and television both in Chile and internationally. He is a former president of the Chilean Political Science Association, has been a Non-resident Fellow at the University of Miami’s Center for Hemispheric Policy, Non-resident Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC, and Visiting Senior Scholar at the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics. Dr Funk was director of Plural, a public policy think tank, from 2014-2017, and is a partner in Andes Risk Group, a political risk consulting firm based in Santiago.
