Full Biography
Tarmo Soomere has obtained a Ph.D. in physics and mathematics and a D.Sc. in mathematics. Having led a distinct scientific and academic career in marine sciences and engineering, he has received both international and domestic recognition as an Academia Europaea member and as president of the Estonian Academy of Sciences since 2014. He is a member of the domestic interinstitutional working group for the Arctic Council observer application of Estonia.
