Expert Bio
Troy Sternberg is the John Fell Research Fellow in the School of Geography, University of Oxford. He completed his D Phil at the University of Oxford where he received the British Academy Post Doctoral Fellowship for research on Climate Hazards in the Gobi Desert. He was awarded a Leverhulme Grant, the Royal Geographical Society’s Thesiger-Oman International Desert Fellowship, a Fulbright scholarship and was the UK-China Visiting Scholar to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Sternberg organised a 3-year project with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and works with the Mongolian Institute of Geography. He was recently selected for the European Union Cooperation in Science and Technology - Arid Lands Restoration and Combating Desertification programme.
