Project Summary

Evaluates the legal situation in Russia, focusing on the basic premises of the law on state secrets after the introduction of the 1997 accounts; the interpretation of the law in respect to its implementation and constitutionality and the question of application and oversight. Looks at the impact of the law on activists, researchers and NGOs and on international cooperation.
