Happy Holidays from the Asia Program

From the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan to greater unity amongst like-minded nations rallying to support Taiwan's stability, shifts in the regional order continued to shape the Indo-Pacific. Looking ahead, the Indo-Pacific will remain at the forefront of the Biden administration's foreign policy, and the Asia Program will continue to provide analysis and insight on the region's political, security, economic, and social developments. We continued to host all large-scale public events online, but we were also able to begin to hold select public and private events in person in 2021.

Several personnel changes were made in the Asia Program this year. We would like to congratulate Abraham Denmark on his new position as Vice President of Programs of the Wilson Center. We are also pleased to announce Shihoko Goto is currently the Acting Director of the Asia Program and the Korea Center has welcomed Sue Mi Terry as its new Director.

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and a happy new year.
