On Tuesday, March 17, the Kennan Institute, in conjunction with the Russian Embassy, the Russian Arts Foundation, and the Library of Congress, sponsored a joint performance by brass quintets from the U.S. Army Band and the Russian National Orchestra. The evening was presided over by Blair A. Ruble, Director, Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson Center, and commentary was provided by Harold M. Leich, Russian Area Specialist, European Division, Library of Congress, and Richard Stites, Professor of History, School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University.
