Wilson Center Asia Program Fellow, Renaud Egreteau, provides a preview of the upcoming elections in post-junta Burma (Myanmar).

, a Fellow with the Wilson Center’s Asia Program, holds degrees in comparative politics and Asian languages as well as a PhD in political science from Sciences Po Paris (2006). He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) in Singapore and a Research Associate with the Center for International Research (CERI) in Paris, France. He was previously a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong, where he taught comparative politics (2009-2013). He authored Wooing the Generals: India’s New Burma Policy (Authorspress, 2003), Histoire de la Birmanie Contemporaine (Fayard, 2010) and (with Larry Jagan) Soldiers and Diplomacy in Burma (NUS Press, 2013). He is now exploring the resurgence of parliament and legislative affairs in post-junta Burma (Myanmar).
