WASHINGTON - The Wilson Center has named two new Distinguished Fellows as part of a revamped fellowship program: Ambassador David Hale and Ambassador (ret.) Philip Reeker.
“We’ve spent the past few months refocusing the Wilson Center to meet our unique role as a congressionally chartered, scholarship driven, and fiercely nonpartisan resource for policymakers,” said Natasha Jacome, Wilson Center President and CEO. “Ambassador Hale and former Ambassador Reeker are seasoned experts who will help us meet our mission to strengthen the relationship between scholarship and public affairs.”
Ambassador Hale and Ambassador Reeker are the first two of a new set of Wilson Center fellows who will lead non-partisan and mission-focused projects in four main areas: strategic competition; economic statecraft; technology and innovation; and regional scholarship. Additional Distinguished Fellows will be announced soon and a competition process for other new fellows will be released next month.
“It’s exciting to be a part of the next chapter as the Wilson Center approaches its seventh decade, ” said former Ambassador Philip Reeker. “Returning to the Wilson Center as a Distinguished Fellow is a special opportunity to share further our work and insights with decision-makers and to inform both national and international conversations.”
“The Wilson Center is building on an incredible legacy as a highly respected bridge between scholarship and policy,” said Ambassador David Hale. “I’m proud to once again contribute to that mission by providing non-partisan analysis that can help policymakers address today’s most complex challenges.”
David Hale and Philip Reeker each have exceptional records from their extensive diplomatic careers with the U.S. Foreign Service under multiple Republican and Democrat administrations. Ambassador Hale was previously a Global Fellow with the Wilson Center. Ambassador Reeker previously chaired the Wilson Center's Global Europe Program and is currently a partner at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group.
