Remembering Henry Kissinger
Overview
The director of the Wilson Center’s Kissinger Institute, Robert Daly, hosted a discussion between Ambassador Winston Lord, who served as an aid to Dr. Kissinger during his secret trip to Beijing and as the United States’ third ambassador to China (1985–1989) and Ambassador Stapleton Roy, who led the US mission in China from 1991 to 1995 and was later vice chairman of Kissinger Associates, Inc. Both diplomats played integral roles at key moments in Sino-US relations and in key periods of Henry Kissinger’s career.
