Full Biography

Abigail Vieregg is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Physics and Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of Chicago.  She is involved in a variety of astrophysics and cosmology experiments in Antarctica.  She is the PI of NASA’s PUEO mission, a long duration balloon mission that will launch from outside of McMurdo Station in Antarctica, is a co-Investigator on the Askaryan Radio Array (ARA) experiment at the South Pole, is involved in the BICEP series of cosmic microwave background telescopes at the South Pole, and is an Executive Team member on CMB-S4, a cosmic microwave background telescope planned for construction at the South Pole.
