Expert Bio

Amanda Murphyao joins the Canada Institute at the Wilson Center as an intern for the fall 2013 semester. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the School of Canadian Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. Her dissertation is focused on the borders and boundaries of the United States and Canada, particularly representations of Canadian and American nationhood in political cartoons and cartographic evidence. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Canadian Studies and English Literature from McGill University as well as a master’s degree in Canadian Studies from Carleton University.
