Full Biography

Jacob Hamutenya is an agriculturalist by training, with an Honors Degree in Agricultural Food Science and Technology, he also has a diploma in Business Management, an MBA in Natural Resources Management, and a higher certificate in Paralegal Studies, Agribusiness Value Chain development, and many professional trainings. Jacob is YALI RLC South Africa and Mandela Washington Fellowship alumni 2017 in Public Management track from UNISA-BLS and Texas Tech University respectively. He is also a graduate of the Australian Awards Africa short courses in agribusiness specialized in Value Chain Development from the University of Queensland 2019. Jacob currently manages the National Fresh Produce Business Hub of the Agro-marketing and Trade Agency (AMTA), a state-owned agency in Namibia. His job strives to enhance market access for small-scale horticulture producers in the country, providing cold storage and marketing facilities and promote value addition with an overall objective of import substitution through stimulation of local productions.
