Karla Ruiz McFarland is the 28th Mayor of the city of Tijuana, if Baja California, Mexico. Ruiz is the first woman to hold this position, assuming office in October 2020. Prior to this, Ruiz served as the Secretary of Municipal Education, and Director of Public Relations at Ruiz and Associates Law Firm. She holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Tijuana.
