Full Biography

Major General Peter B. Andrysiak commands United States Army Alaska, providing trained and ready forces in support of worldwide unified land operations and theater engagement in the Indo-Asia-Pacific and the Alaskan Arctic. He also serves as the Deputy Commander, Alaskan Command, United States Northern Command.

Throughout his career, Major General Andrysiak has held several leadership positions, including Deputy Commanding General – Support, 25th Infantry Division; Commanding General, Pacific Ocean Division, USACE; and Commander, 2nd Engineer Brigade, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Prior to his present position, Major General Andrysiak served as the Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Science in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College. Previous operational assignments include two tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan ’10 to ’11 and ’14; and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, Afghanistan ’15. His decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal and the Legion of Merit and he has earned the Combat Action Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and Ranger Tab.
