Full Biography

Martin McLaughlin serves as the Director for Central America and Mexico Affairs at USAID. Previously Martin served at USAID mission overseas as the Deputy Mission Director for USAID/Mozambique and as a technical officer in Guatemala, Iraq, Peru, the DRC, and Ethiopia. He helped facilitate forest conservation negotiations between Amazonian communities and the Peruvian government, negotiated a biodiversity and climate change partnership with the Government of Norway and an education partnership with the governments of the UK and the DRC. Prior to joining USAID, Martin worked at the U.S. Department of Education, as a public school teacher, and a Peace Corps Volunteer.
