Full Biography

Robert Lovelace is a portfolio manager for the American Funds and President of the New Perspective Fund and New World Fund. He is also President and a Director of Capital Research and Management Company, a subsidiary of Capital Group, and serves on the Capital Group Companies Management Committee. Rob joined Capital in 1985 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in mineral economics from Princeton University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He developed an expertise on Mexican companies while covering them as an investment analyst for Capital from 1986 to 1998. Rob is also a Trustee and Board President of Vistamar School, a Director of the Pacific Council on International Policy, a Director of the Value Schools Foundation Board, and a Trustee of the Brain Mapping Support Foundation at UCLA.
