Full Biography

Sarah Maza is Jane Long Professor in the Arts and Sciences and Professor of History at Northwestern University.  She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Aix-Marseille (France) and a PhD from Princeton.  A specialist in French social and cultural history and in issues of historical theory and methods, her recent publications include A Companion to Western Historical Thought (ed. with Lloyd Kramer, 2002), Violette Nozière: A Story of Murder in 1930s Paris (2011) and Thinking About History (2017).
