    Full Biography

    Shada El-Sharif is a recognized advocate for climate action, green economic transition, and sustainable development, in Jordan and the MENA region. She has held leadership positions and senior advisory roles in public, private and international organizations, driving green policies, projects and partnerships in a range of sectors including energy, environment, transport, water, agriculture and waste.

    Shada has contributed to the formulation of Jordan’s recent Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), with a focus on the Green Economy and Sustainable Resources drivers. Shada founded SustainMENA, a sustainability awareness and advisory platform. She previously served as Director of the Jordan Environment Fund and Director of Cleantech at the USAID Jordan Competitiveness Program. She also served as a mentor for ‘green entrepreneurs’, and women in the energy sector.

    Shada holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, as well as an MEng and BSc degrees in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University. She is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM)/ Renewable Energy Professional (REP) from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
