Expert Bio
Sunil Ravi is the U.S. Coordinator for the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics Games in Milano-Cortina D’Ampezzo. He joined the Department of State in 2008 and has served primarily in policy positions focused on political, economic, and national security issues.
From 2020-23 he was a member of the U.S. Ambassador’s executive team as the Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at Embassy Tirana, Albania. Prior to that he advised the Under Secretary for Political Affairs in Washington D.C. as the Special Assistant responsible for Europe, Arms Control, and International Security.
In previous assignments he served in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs’ Office of Western Europe as a desk officer for France and Monaco, as an Economic Officer in Milan, Italy and Islamabad, Pakistan, and as a Consular Officer in Monterrey, Mexico.
Sunil hails from Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. He is joined in Milan by his wife and two children (ages 6 and 4). He is a passionate sports fan for all the teams from Arizona and is an avid golfer in his spare time.
