Expert Bio

Warda Al Sayed is the president and founder of Yad bi Yad (Hand-in-Hand in Arabic) for Development, a Yemeni-based NGO focused on empowering women and youth, promoting a culture of coexistence, supporting marginalized communities in our society and upholding women's issues in community development. Yad bi Yad works across the country in liberated and besieged areas. Warda has a Bachelor’s degree in public administration from the National University and an accounting diploma from a local community college. Warda has worked with a number of organizations prior to founding Yad bi Yad including the Fikr Foundation for Development and Adala for Rights and Freedoms.
