RAFDI Internship Opportunities

The Refugee and Forced Displacement Initiative seeks an intern for the Summer 2024 semester.

Interns assist with all aspects of RAFDI's day-to-day operations and programming. Sample duties may include:

  • Editing and proofreading written material
  • Assisting staff with preparation for events
  • Briefing RAFDI staff on current events and emerging trends
  • Conducting independent research, with the opportunity for publication on the RAFDI webpage
  • Assisting with the creative design and execution of social media campaigns
  • Assisting with the development of new strategies for increasing engagement
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Successful applicants should have strong research and/or administrative skills; be extremely attentive to detail; be able to work independently and as part of group; be enrolled in a degree program, have graduated, and/or have been accepted to enter an advanced degree program within the next year.

International students are eligible, but they must hold a valid F-1 or J-1 visa at the time of application and appropriate work authorization. All international students must obtain written permission from their Designated School Official or Responsible Visa Officer at their university stating that they are in valid immigration status and eligible to do an internship at the Center. The Wilson Center is an equal opportunity employer and follows equal opportunity employment guidelines in the selection of its interns.

The internship will last 12 weeks and interns will be expected to work up to 35 hours/week, and will be compensated at a rate of $17.45/hour.
