Claudio Muruzábal, President for SAP Latin America & The Caribbean and Iván Chávez, Executive Vice President of Grupo Vidanta discuss opportunities and challenges for large firms in the region.


Claudio Muruzábal has been the President for SAP Latin America since August 1, 2015. Mr. Muruzábal served as the Chief Executive Officer of Neoris, Inc. from October, 2004 to August 1, 2015. He served as Vice President of Caribbean and Latin America of NCR's Teradata and with the additional role of Country Managing Director for NCR Argentina. He served as Vice President of Teradata in the Caribbean and Latin America in May 2000. He held a number of different positions in NCR. He served as Director of Sales & Marketing of NCR Argentina since 1991 and moved to Mexico as Country Manager since 1993. He returned to Argentina in 1996 as Country Manager. In 1998, he took over the Retail Solutions Group in the Caribbean and Latin America and later in the year moved to the Financial Solutions Group in the role of Vice President for the same region. He has 20 years of experience and expertise in the information technology industry. His extensive background managing world-class professional services organizations ensure the Neoris strategy is flawlessly executed. Mr. Muruzábal holds a CPA degree and a Business Administration degree from UCA. He has an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University from 2000 to 2001. 

Iván Chávez, Executive Vice President of Grupo Vidanta, is one of the most recognized young business leaders in the Mexican tourism industry. Son of Grupo Vidanta founder Daniel Chávez Morán, Chávez, who joined the organization in 2007 after receiving a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, is charged with the domestic and global expansion of the company's resort and entertainment interests. He actively participates in all aspects of Grupo Vidanta, including strategic planning, design, construction, operations, sales, and marketing.  Since joining Grupo Vidanta, Chávez has overseen the launch of Vidanta’s ultra-luxury resort brand, Grand Luxxe, which has earned the AAA Five Diamond Award by the American Automobile Association, the world’s most respected hospitality quality rating system.
