Wilson Center Alumnus and Senior Scholar Frederick (Skip) M. Burkle, Jr., MD, received the Peter Safar International Disaster Medicine Award from the World Association for Disaster & Emergency Medicine and delivered the Keynote Oratory on "Future Humanitarian Crises: Challenges to Practice, Policy & Public Health" in June in Beijing. Skip works with Environmental Change and Security Program Director Geoff Dabelko on global health issues.
