Teaching About Africa & The Middle East

As a special feature of the African Studies Association Conference, and in Partnership with the Middle Eastern Studies Association, a Saturday workshop with 12 panels has been designed for K-12 educators and librarians focusing how to bring Africa and the Middle East into your classroom or library.

Featured topics include:

"Using African Epics and Poetry to Build Literacy and Community"

"Teaching about the Slave Trade"

"Teaching about Iraq, Israel and Palestine"
