Beginning November 17th, Dialogue Television viewers can tune in to a discussion with two prominent female peacebuilders, Durria Mansour El Hussein, current deputy chair of the Sudanese women's empowerment for peace network and Sandra Opoka, a board member of the Sudanese women's empowerment for peace network.
Durria Mansour El Hussein and Sandra Opoka are two women holding leading positions in the effort to bring peace to Sudan. War has ravaged the country for more than half a century and left millions dead, wounded or homeless. Even though conflict still rages in regions like Darfur, women have systematically excluded from all serious attempts at peacemaking. They make a strong case for the inclusion of women in the peace process and greater attention to the needs of Sudanese women.
Dialogue is broadcast in the Washington, DC area on the Megahertz Channel. It also airs nationwide on the Colours channel of the DISH satellite network.
