Date & Time

Wednesday
Apr. 29, 2020
12:00pm – 1:00pm ET

Overview

During a weekly “Wilson Policy Brief Series” Wilson Center Scholars and expert guests provide their analysis of the current state of the world during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The sixth installment of the series featured a conversation with Dr. Joseph Nye, Former Dean of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, Chair of the National Intelligence Council, and Deputy Undersecretary of State for Security Assistance, Science and Technology. Dr. Nye discussed his new book “Do Morals Matter? Presidents and Foreign Policy from FDR to Trump.” As the title indicates, Dr. Nye takes us through nearly a century of presidential history and finds that despite our system of checks and balances, the person in the Oval Office matters, and that person’s morals matter.
