How Will Russia Pay?: Making Seized Russian Financial Assets Work for Ukraine
Overview
In response to Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine, the United States, the EU, and other partners seized around $300 billion in Russian sovereign financial assets that were deposited in Western banks at the time of the invasion. International justice and common sense demand that the Russian money be repurposed to compensate Ukraine for the losses inflicted by Russia, assist Ukraine during the war, and finance its reconstruction.
