Overview

The Biden administration's historic public investments in decarbonization, energy transition, infrastructure, and strategic sectors such as semiconductor fabrication are creating opportunities for Canadian firms to engage in cross-border investment, participate in US supply chains, and collaborate on research and production. Bipartisan congressional support made these investments possible through funding for the Build Back Better framework in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 and gave the executive branch responsibility for implementation.

On May 3, US Ambassador to Canada David L. Cohen will speak at the Wilson Center to address the possibilities for Canadians and Americans to build back better together.
