Overview
Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka is a world renowned conservationist and scientist working to save the critically endangered mountain gorillas of East Africa. Founder and CEO of Conservation Through Public Health, Dr. Kalema-Zikusoka became a pioneer in the One Health approach to conservation and public health when she recognized early in her career the interconnected relationship between the health of ecosystems, wildlife, and the communities who share their fragile habitats. In her new book, Walking with Gorillas: The Journey of an African Wildlife Vet, Dr. Kalema-Zikusoka recounts the experiences she’s had over the course of her career that led her to revolutionize conservation with a focus on the integrated health of humans and wildlife.
