Full Biography

Counsellor Georgina Barquet joined the Mexican Foreign Service in 2005 and has served as Deputy Consul in Tecun Uman, Guatemala and Brownsville, Texas. In 2011, she was appointed as Head of Political Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in Canada and in 2013 she became the Special Affairs Director at the Mexican Foreign Ministry. Since 2019, she has been the Head of Borders and Special Affairs in the Embassy of Mexico in the United States.

She has a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Autonomous Institute of Technology of Mexico (ITAM), a Master's degree in Defense and Hemispheric Security from the Inter-American Defense College in Washington D.C., and Master degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of Texas.

She has published articles in Foreign Affairs Latinoamérica and Hemisferio
