    Full Biography

    In January 2020 John Cash launched and taught the first Historically Black College and University (HBCU) esports/gaming curriculum and certification program. That was followed up with an esports club team and lab offering. This was accomplished at Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, N.C. He continues to support the program. Subsequently John was approached and has since partnered with Cxmmunity. Founded and led by fellow HBCU graduates, this 501c3 launched the first esports/gaming league and esports industry educational development program for underserved k-12 and HBCU students. In addition to league play and education Cxmmunity has quickly catapulted and gained equity and partnerships in the esports ecosystem driven by its organic advocacy of STEM/STEAM, business education, student mentorships, scholarships, internships, league, and tournament play. Current strategic partnerships include Microsoft, Twitch, Riot Games, and Epic Games. League sponsorship support includes Verizon and Discover. Professional esports teams and entertainment personalities include Evil Geniuses, FaZe Clan, and Erin Ashely Simon. Cxmmunity has recently added consulting and sport/entertainment business development to its portfolio of services.

    John is an accomplished United States Air Force Veteran Officer, MBA-educated Fortune 50 brand marketer, sports/entertainment agency executive, and business owner of The Narmer Group, LLC. As an Air Force Officer, John served during two global campaigns. He also led cross-functional computer systems command in the development and launch of the navigation system for the McDonnell Douglas/Boeing C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft. His proudest military service moment was qualifying for and completing Combat Controller evaluation training after sustaining a service-disabling injury.

    John has served at the management and executive level for industry-leading companies such as Learfield/IMG Collegiate Sports, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, and IMAGES USA Marketing and Advertising Agency. He has managed budgets and EBITA up to $125 million dollars. Maintaining his passion for HBCUs he launched the first two HBCU Conference collegiate sports multi-media business initiatives for Learfield/IMG Collegiate (MEAC) and Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment (CIAA) respectively as well institution partnerships at Florida A&M University and North Carolina A&T University. As Managing Director of The Narmer Group, LLC, he has committed his experience to developing new business consulting initiatives in strategic marketing, technology, business development, social impact, and government contracting.

    His community and service passions are centered on supporting service-disabled military veterans and youth empowerment programs. He serves as board chairperson for both Vets2Industry and Cxmmunity. John also volunteers for professional organizations including the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), and the Charlotte Business Group. John is a leader and social cause volunteer in his church, Elevation, and fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha / Beta Nu Lambda Alumni Chapter, Charlotte, N.C. where he serves on the B.E.A.M Foundation (Building Excellence Affirming Manhood) and leads the grants program. John is also past member of the 100 Black Men of America, Charlotte Chapter.

    A proud native of metro Washington, D.C., John is husband to Robin and father to Alaina. He enjoys learning, cooking, reading, socializing, traveling, and is avid about technology, sports (especially golf) and wellness. His current personal accomplishment is being a humble caregiver to his parents.
